The main goal of the association is to constantly support activities and help members of the International Maritime Association (IMA) in the fields of maritime and river transport, merchant shipping, shipping (including fish / fish protection, port industries), navigation and hydrographic support for navigation, while ensuring the safety of navigation on approaches to seaports, in the areas of environmental protection during the implementation of economic activity and control in sea and river ports, in ship agency services, in the fields of x using ships for the transportation of goods, passengers, baggage and mail, fishing and other marine industries, exploration and mining, towing, icebreaking and rescue operations, cable laying, as well as for other economic, scientific and cultural purposes, forwarding in other related areas.

An honorary member of the association, Ivan Stepanovych Ryabukhin, died.
At the age of 78, the heart of an extraordinary and talented man - the chairman of the Odessa organization of the All-Ukrainian Union of Marine Writers named after I.P. Gaidaenko, a member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, an honorary member of the International Maritime Association - Ivan Stepanovych Ryabukhin. The International Maritime Association expresses its deepest condolences to the family and friends of Ivan Stepanovych. Bright memory and the Kingdom of Heaven of his soul.
October 31 - International Black Sea Day.
The world celebrates the International Black Sea Day on the last day of October. It was on October 31, 1996 that the six Black Sea countries signed a strategic plan for the rehabilitation and protection of the Black Sea. Its essence is to conduct various studies of the marine environment and identify key measures to improve it.
October 14 - Day of the Defender of Ukraine.
Dear Defenders, on behalf of the International Maritime Association, accept the most sincere congratulations on the occasion of the triple holiday: the Day of the Defender of Ukraine, the Day of the Ukrainian Cossacks and the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin. On this day, we want to wish all the defenders good health, strength of spirit and courage to endure to the end. And to Ukraine - victories and a peaceful sky. May the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin keep peace and tranquility in our state.
August 24 - Independence Day of Ukraine.
On August 24, Ukraine celebrates the Independence Day of Ukraine. This year is the 30th anniversary. The International Maritime Association wishes us all peace in the country and in the soul, good health, inexhaustible energy and self-confidence, boundless happiness and comfort in families, and most importantly - unity for the most cherished - prosperity of Ukraine!
June 28 - Constitution Day of Ukraine.
